Faro de Luz Missions Ministry
It was such a blessing to be with our brothers and sisters from the Missions Ministry of Iglesia Faro de Luz of Houston Texas, this weekend.
This time, they were delivering backpacks and school supplies to children from three remote communities in Alta and Baja Verapaz. Additionally, they sang children's songs, set up activities, and performed a drama skit with the purpose of sharing the good news of salvation. Thank you Faro de Luz Ministry for sharing the love of Christ and blessing the children of Guatemala!
Nutrition Program
We are happy to introduce the children who are part of the nutrition program. They will soon undergo surgery. The children had their health, weight, and height verified by medical professionals before surgery. Their parents received training on the importance of good nutrition and necessary care pre-surgery.
We ask for your prayers regarding our next Medical Surgery day that will be held in May of this year.
Programa de Salud Preventiva
In the communities of San Cristobal Verapaz, families typically prepare their food over an open fire on the ground or on what is called pollentones; a fire built in a sandbox type structure. In doing so, they inhale a lot of smoke throughout the day. This exposes them to dangers such as burns and respiratory deseases.
We give glory to God for this opportunity to introduce to you some of the families who will soon have the opportunity to receive a new and improved stove as well as a water purifier for their home.
