𝗦𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝗿𝗱 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘀𝗶𝘀 𝗠𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲!Over the past two days, together with our friends from One World Unity Project Inc. and Nevada Orthotics & Prosthetics, we have had the privilege of serving 13 more patients, providing maintenance and repairs to their prostheses to help them move more comfortably and freely, improving their well-being and quality of life. A special thanks to One World Unity Project and Nevada Prosthetic for their dedication and generosity. 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘀𝗶𝘀 𝗺𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲!Yesterday we had the opportunity to support people with prosthesis maintenance along with our friends from One World Unity Project Inc. and Nevada Orthotics & Prosthetics. Mrs. Eva is a 60-year-old single mother who takes care of her two children, Zuleika (24 years old) and Mauricio (30 years old), who both have special needs. They live in a small wooden house with a tin roof and dirt floor, on a piece of land that was temporarily lent to them. They do not have electricity, water, or drainage services, which affects them even more.Mrs. Eva must go out to work to support her two children, who, due to their special needs, cannot support themselves.Mauricio, the older brother, suffers from a bone disease that prevents him from walking and using his hands. At 30 years old, his IQ level is 8. His language is not clear, he has difficulty reasoning, and he faces multiple physical and sensory limitations. He loves that, when someone visits him, they sing with him, and he enjoys their conversations, all of which he does with the innocence of a child.Zuleika, 24 years old, cannot take care of herself either. Although she can walk and her language is clear, she thinks and acts like a child. She has difficulty reasoning and faces intellectual, sensory and congenital limitations, which prevent her from carrying out daily activities independently.For Mrs. Eva, earning a daily living is difficult, since she works in houses washing clothes by hand, and sometimes she is not even given work, which makes her income insufficient to cover both food and other daily needs.Elderly Care ProgramWith the Elderly Program, which is designed to provide comprehensive support to the beneficiaries, we can support them on a regular basis by bringing them a bag of groceries, ensuring that they have what they need for their food. During these visits, a moment is also dedicated to praying for them, seeking spiritual and emotional strength. In addition, twice a year, they are offered a free medical consultation, ensuring that they receive health care. At the end of the year, a special gathering is organized, with a lunch to share moments of fraternity, and they are given a basket of groceries and Christmas products. No cuentan con energía eléctrica ni servicio de agua y drenaje, lo que les afecta aun mas.Doña Eva debe salir a trabajar para mantener a sus dos hijos, ya que debido a sus capacidades especiales, ellos no pueden sustentarse por sí mismos.Mauricio, el hermano mayor padece una enfermedad en los huesos que le impide caminar y usar sus manos. A sus 30 años, su nivel de coeficiente es de 8. Su lenguaje no es claro, tiene dificultad para razonar y enfrenta múltiples limitaciones físicas y sensoriales. Le encanta que, cuando alguien lo visita, cante con él y disfrute de sus conversaciones, las cuales realiza con la inocencia de un niño.Zuleika, de 24 años, tampoco puede valerse por sí sola. Tiene dificultades para razonar y enfrenta limitaciones intelectuales, sensoriales y connaturales, lo que le impide realizar actividades diarias de forma independiente.Para Doña Eva, conseguir el sustento diario es difícil, ya que trabaja en casas lavando ropa a mano, pero a veces no le dan trabajo, lo que hace que sus ingresos sean insuficientes para cubrir tanto la alimentación como otras necesidades diarias.Programa de Cuidados de AncianosCon el Programa de Cuidados Especiales que está diseñado para brindar apoyo integral a los beneficiarios, podemos apoyar de manera regular, Llevándoles una bolsa de víveres, asegurando que tengan lo necesario para su alimentación. Durante estas visitas, también se dedica un momento a orar por ellos, buscando fortaleza espiritual y emocional. Además, dos veces al año, se les ofrece una consulta médica gratuita, garantizando que reciban atención en salud.
